Ferguson is seeking a knowledgeable, results-driven Counter Sales Associate to support plumbing and HVAC contractor customers. You’ll leverage product expertise to help customers make informed purchasing decisions and contribute to sales growth.

The role emphasizes relationship building, sales, and exceptional service while working Monday–Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Benefits include comprehensive plans and employee support programs.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in customer service or sales; plumbing/HVAC or related industry preferred.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals, build relationships, and influence purchasing decisions.
• Strong communication skills for consultative selling and customer engagement.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Engage customers at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert by applying knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and related products to guide decisions.
• Drive sales growth by upselling, cross-selling, and promoting programs.
• Use catalogs, computer systems, and manufacturer databases to locate parts and provide information.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently while ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Associates to support account growth.
• Manage special orders and follow up on order status, back-orders, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional, organized counter environment reflecting quality and service.
• Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock organization.
