Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision is seeking a Counselor/PA Lead to improve patient education and streamline clinic flow. You will coordinate surgeon schedules, triage calls, and educate patients on postoperative care, insurance, and costs.

You will mentor new hires and oversee daily clinic operations to ensure a high standard of patient service. The role emphasizes teamwork, cross-training, and proactive problem solving, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and education throughout the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in patient education and customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patient phone calls and resolving concerns to support satisfaction.
• Educating patients on expectations, financial obligations, eye drops, post-operative care, insurance, and other information prior to surgery.
• Assist in onboarding and training of new hires; provide mentorship and coaching to team members on departmental processes.
• Schedule postoperative appointments promptly and ensure financial obligations are collected prior to surgery.
• Report team progress to ensure effective communication across teams and departments.
• Help lead and motivate the clinic daily operations and cross-train in related roles (ophthalmic assistant, scribe, surgical counselor).
• Maintain positive group dynamics and ensure collaborative work flow between patient advocates and counselors.
