Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision seeks a Patient Advocate to join our team in North Dakota. You will verify insurance coverage and determine network status before evaluations, schedule surgeries, and assist patients with financial information.

This role emphasizes clear communication, attention to detail, and proactive problem solving to support patient care and clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical office experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage prior to patient arrival and confirm in/out of network.
• Complete insurance verification forms with accurate benefit details.
• Prepare surgery schedules and post‑op appointments for patients.
• Provide patients with cost estimates and insurance information.
• Create daily reports of evaluations confirming network status and referrals.
• Answer patient calls promptly and address questions or concerns.
• Collect and organize required insurance data and fee schedules.
• Prepare, maintain, and retrieve medical records as needed.
• Ensure preoperative testing/docs are completed before procedure.
