Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision in Nebraska is seeking a Surgical Counselor to educate patients about refractive, laser, and surgical options and to help coordinate procedures. You will schedule surgeries, explain financial responsibilities, answer questions, and support the care team to ensure exceptional patient experiences.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior medical office experience. This role offers full-time work on site with benefits and a team‑oriented culture.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring thorough patient education and counseling about refractive, laser and surgical procedures.
• Scheduling refractive, laser and surgical procedures for patients; oversees maintenance and distribution of schedules.
• Educating patients on financial responsibility, and answers questions on financial documents and ensures patients sign any necessary consent forms.
• Answering patient phone calls regarding questions or concerns.
• Providing other related services to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
• Communicating with supervisor and/or surgeon regarding potential patient concerns
• Making follow-up calls to potential refractive candidates.
