Job summary

BayCare is seeking a part-time Cook to join our food service team, delivering high-quality meals to patients, visitors, and staff at our Tampa Bay area facilities.

The role requires 4 years as a Cook or 2 years with a High School Diploma or Culinary Diploma, plus ServSafe Manager certification within 1 year of hire. You will handle prep, safety, and daily quality checks in a collaborative hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Train and orient staff on food production and safety practices.
• Lead production in absence of Executive Chef according to the facility.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation of foods according to the standardized recipes, and production methods.
• Ensures high quality using safe, sanitary food handling techniques during preparation, service and storage and daily quality control checks.
• Works multiple production stations and conducts quality control checks on taste, temperature and presentation on patient, cafeteria, and catering foods.
• Trains and orients selected staff on food production along with safety and sanitation practices.
• Leads production in absence of Executive Chef according to facility.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Experience

• Required: 4 years as a Cook / 2 years with high school Diploma or Culinary Diploma
• Preferred: 2 years in Healthcare

Education
