Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Controls Engineer for our southwest suburban Atlanta manufacturing facility. The role offers a strong salary, relocation assistance, and 410K with a 100% match to 5% bonus potential within a major company benefits package.

The engineer will troubleshoot, program, and integrate equipment and automation systems to improve safety, efficiency, and uptime across stamping, zinc die casting, plating, finishing and assembly processes.

Qualifications

• Four years of technical education or degree, or related experience; prefer 5 years as controls engineer.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and robotics integration is desirable.
• Hands-on electrical troubleshooting and project execution experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships across Maintenance, Toolroom, Mfg Eng, Tech Team and Production.
• Troubleshoot electrical on production equipment 24V–480V; diagnose faults and implement actions.
• Support projects with controls engineering: specs, design, PLC/HMI programming, commissioning, troubleshooting.
• Lead projects coordinating activities with internal/external stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, FATs, and document changes; ensure safety compliance with OHSA/EHS.
• Support energy and process optimization efforts.
