Job summary

6 Degrees Search in the Atlanta area seeks a skilled Controls Engineer to join a busy manufacturing facility. You will troubleshoot, program, and integrate electrical and PLC systems to improve safety, efficiency, and uptime in an Allen-Bradley environment.

You will lead and support projects across Maintenance/Engineering, collaborate with multiple teams, design electrical modifications, and generate FAT documentation while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

Four years of technical education or degree, or two years of technical education with related work experience.
Prefer at least 5 years as a controls engineer, but will consider at least 2 years.

Responsibilities

Maintain effective working relationships with related departments to support manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform electrical troubleshooting on production equipment from 24V to 480V circuits, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions.
Support manufacturing projects with controls engineering expertise: design, wiring, PLC/HMI programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Lead manufacturing projects by coordinating activities, timelines, and requirements with internal teams and external contractors.
Prepare and maintain technical reports and FAT-related documentation; implement alterations to machine capabilities as required.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and internal EHS standards.
