Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract opportunity with potential for permanent placement. The float position covers locations in Montgomery County, MD, with 1st shift hours (7am–4pm or 8am–5pm, EOS 8am–12pm).

The role requires blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to safety regulations. Candidates should have a valid phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperature and protocol.
• Attend annual department trainings and adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
