Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is seeking a contract Phlebotomist in Shelby, NC to perform venipuncture procedures, label specimens, and ensure accurate data handling. The role requires blood draw experience and certification, with a workload that includes routine specimen processing and adherence to safety and quality protocols.

The position offers on-site hours, a typical M-F schedule, and benefits are available. Projected duration is 3 months with potential for permanent placement based on performance.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture blood draws and properly label specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens, document maintenance data, and ensure specimen integrity.
• Explain venipuncture procedure clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match requisition forms to specimens and label tubes correctly.
• Prepare and package specimens for transport following procedures.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and comply with protocols for transport.
• Attend required department trainings and update patient information as needed.
