Job summary

Acloché LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a Shelby, NC contract position with potential for permanent placement. The role focuses on blood collection, specimen labeling, and quality control within a fast-paced lab environment.

You will perform venipuncture, process specimens, and maintain accurate patient information while adhering to OSHA regulations. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• High School Diploma or GED
• minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature and follow protocols for transport to maintain integrity; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
