Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Shelby, NC. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm, with a projected duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, processing, and maintaining accurate patient data, following OSHA/DEP regulations, and attending department trainings.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains the venipuncture process clearly and politely.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand orders; match requisitions to tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as needed.
