Job summary

KingRecruitingServices seeks a Phlebotomist in Shelby, NC for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is typically M-F, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with responsibilities including blood draws, specimen labeling, and data entry.

The ideal candidate holds a valid phlebotomy certification, 6+ months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and a high school diploma or GED. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED
• minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, and prepare specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store specimens at required temperatures.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries via phone or lab results.
