Job summary

Travelers, a leading property casualty insurer, seeks an Account Executive underwriter in Dallas. You will manage profitability, growth and retention of a book of business, underwrite and negotiate accounts, and build strong broker relationships to drive outcomes.

You will execute underwriting strategies, develop agency sales plans, and collaborate with internal partners to identify cross-selling opportunities while traveling to meet agents and brokers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3–5 years of underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of products, regulatory environment, and local market conditions.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills aligned with risk appetite.
• Excellent negotiation and communication with agents and brokers.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Execute underwriting strategies across your book of business to achieve profit and growth objectives.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with external partners by regularly meeting with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products; travel required.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute individual agency sales plans that align with the team’s sales plans to drive success.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
