Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Associate Account Executive for its Construction Services team. You will build relationships with agents and brokers to provide insurance or surety solutions to customers, while analyzing risk to meet business goals within an assigned book of business.

You will be decisive, detail-oriented, and develop the ability to assess risk and sell our products, contributing to Travelers’ profitability and success. Travel to meetings is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One to three years of underwriting experience.
• Applicable professional experience in underwriting and risk assessment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention for a defined book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate routine customer accounts to minimize risk.
• Partner with leadership to execute underwriting strategies for profit and growth.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners and external agents/brokers.
• Travel to in-person meetings to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify new business opportunities through consultative marketing and sales.
• Execute agency, region, and group sales plans with management guidance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
