Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Account Executive (Underwriting) for Select Accounts in a dynamic, high-volume environment. You will underwrite and negotiate property and casualty accounts, manage profitability, and partner with agents to grow the book of business.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years in commercial underwriting, and CPCU designation. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, with travel to meet brokers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three to five years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Knowledge of commercial lines products.
• Strong critical thinking to identify challenges and decide.
• Communication skills to negotiate with agents/brokers.
• CPCU designation is preferred.
• Two years of underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth and retention of an assigned book of business in a high-volume environment.
• Underwrite and negotiate property and casualty accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Ensure underwriting quality and profitability through appropriate analysis based on risk complexity.
• Cultivate internal partnerships to create sales plans and cross-sell opportunities.
• Travel to meetings with agents/brokers to market Travelers’ products.
