Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Spokane Valley, WA seeks an Account Executive to grow a commercial book with agents and brokers. You will help place property, general liability, auto, and workers’ compensation coverage for new and renewal business, balancing risk and profitability.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years of commercial underwriting, CPCU designation, strong communication, and the ability to travel for in-person meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three to five years of relevant underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Knowledge of commercial lines products, regulatory environment, and local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking with ability to identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and make timely decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation with agents and brokers.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with external partners by meeting with agents and brokers to market Travelers products; travel required.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans and regional plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
