Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Associate Account Executive in Colorado to build relationships with agents and brokers, evaluate risk, and provide insurance and surety solutions. You will develop proficiency in underwriting, market Travelers products, and drive profitability within your book of business.

The role requires collaboration with internal partners and external stakeholders, travel to meet with agents, and a focus on growth and cross-selling opportunities within the Construction Services team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–3 years underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of products, regulations, and local market.
• Strong analytical and decision-making aligned with risk appetite.
• Excellent negotiation and communication with agents/brokers.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention for a smaller assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate routine customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Partner with leadership to execute underwriting strategies across your book of business.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet in person with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities with consultative sales skills.
• Execute agency, region, and group sales plans with guidance from management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
