Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the superintendent in managing a home construction site. You will coordinate subcontractors, ensure quality, safety, and adherence to the production schedule while delivering excellent customer service to homeowners.

The role requires visits to multiple sites, strong communication, and the ability to work overtime as needed. Texas-based responsibilities emphasize safety and quality in a high-volume homebuilding environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months to 2 years of related construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive among sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect homes daily to ensure quality and adherence to plans.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-through and closing.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walks for satisfaction.
• Assist in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, and cost.
• Enforce site safety program and adherence to standards.
• Maintain cleanliness across communities and jobsites.
• Support construction schedule and quality targets.
• Develop positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Work overtime and extra hours as needed.
