Job summary

D.R. Horton, America’s Builder, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in managing the community job site during home construction.

You will help schedule and supervise subcontractors, maintain quality, manage costs, and ensure safety and customer satisfaction throughout the building process. The role requires basic construction knowledge, ability to read plans, strong communication, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among construction sites day and night.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Require minimum supervision and ability to create a systematic approach in carrying out assignments.
• Ability to converse with customers and all levels of management and personnel.
• Ability to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to ensure quality and that work aligns with plans and production schedule.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-through and closing sign-off to ensure readiness.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walks to ensure homeowner satisfaction.
• Assist Superintendent in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, scheduling and cost control.
• Enforce site safety program and subcontractor compliance with standards and regulations.
• Maintain DR Horton cleanliness standards across communities and jobsites.
