Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. in Glassboro, NJ is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the site management of a home construction community.

You will assist the Superintendent with scheduling, supervising subcontractors, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring safety and on-time, on-budget delivery. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (GED acceptable) with 6 months to 2 years of construction experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months to 2 years of related construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive between sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read plans and construction documents.
• Proficiency with MS Office and DRH Construction apps.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to ensure workmanship quality and schedule alignment.
• Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-through and closing.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and follow-up for satisfaction.
• Assist Superintendent in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, cost.
• Enforce site safety program and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness standards across communities and jobsites.
• Support construction schedule to deliver on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service during all construction phases.
