Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Atlantic County to support the Superintendent with site management, quality, safety, and customer service. This role covers inspections, scheduling, and coordination across subcontractors and homeowners.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with up to 2 years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to read construction plans. Willingness to drive between sites is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months to 2 years of related experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among construction sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Ability to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnel.
• Ability to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect daily to assure quality and adherence to plans.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-through and closing sign-off.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walks for satisfaction.
• Assist in managing subcontractors with quality, safety, scheduling and cost control.
• Enforce site safety program and subcontractor compliance with codes.
• Maintain cleanliness standards on sites and communities.
• Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage, waste and theft.
• Support construction schedule and deliver high quality on time and budget.
• Provide superior customer service during all phases of construction.
• Develop relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Develop knowledge in codes, materials, scheduling.
• In Superintendent absence, maintain schedules and policies.
• Conduct business professionally to serve customers and company goodwill.
• Ability to work overtime and additional hours as needed.
