Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards on site. This on-site role requires travel to project locations nationwide and a strong safety background.

You will enforce OSHA standards, assist with accident investigations, and lead site orientations while coordinating with the ESH Manager and project teams to ensure safety excellence.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with a minimum of 3 years in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge with ongoing education in construction safety.
• Experience with federal government projects preferred; EM385-1-1 certified.

Responsibilities

• Champions The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal/external teams and customers.
• Ensures Constructing with Integrity through honesty, unity, safety and quality.
• Monitors safety conditions and enforces OSHA and Layton standards at sites.
• Assists the ESH Manager in investigating accidents and collects initial data.
• Tracks workers’ compensation issues and furnishes timely information.
• Conducts or assists site safety orientations for project teams.
• Participates in pre-construction safety meetings and highlights safety needs.
• Supports injury management to provide cost-effective medical care.
• Performs industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit tests as needed.
• Supports compliance with FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation laws.
• Delivers safety-related training to employees/subcontractors on site.
• Participates in monthly Safety Committee meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
