Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Purchasing Agent to oversee development, negotiation, and execution of division sourcing agreements, while also creating and maintaining material take-offs. You will support the VP of Purchasing by managing the department's timeline and workflow within a fast-paced homebuilding environment.

The role emphasizes cost management, contract administration, and collaboration with trade partners to ensure timely payments, budget adherence, and high-quality subcontractor performance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of purchasing experience, ideally with a national home builder.
• Proficient in reading residential blueprints and using Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledgeable in nationwide construction practices.
• Able to multitask efficiently under tight deadlines with a detail-oriented and energetic work ethic.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.
• Physical & Office/Site Presence: sedentary office position with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, negotiation, and execution of division sourcing agreements.
• Create and maintain material take-offs.
• Support the VP of Purchasing by managing the department's timeline and workflow.
• Ensure subcontractor selection aligns with cost, quality, and delivery goals.
• Prepare and analyze bid packages and payment schedules.
• Monitor trade partner performance for contract compliance and issue resolution.
• Oversee updates to contracts, material take-offs, and purchasing systems.
• Implement sourcing strategies to optimize supply chains and reduce costs.
• Maintain relationships with trade partners and ensure policy compliance.
• Assist in monthly budget meetings and ensure timely progress payments.
