Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Purchasing Agent to oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of division sourcing agreements. You will manage material take-offs and support the VP of Purchasing by coordinating timelines and workflows within the division.

You’ll review site development plans, pre-qualify subcontractors for cost-effective services, and prepare bid packages. Strong Excel skills and construction knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years purchasing experience, preferably with a national home builder.
• Proficient in reading residential blueprints and using Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledgeable in nationwide construction practices.
• Able to multitask under tight deadlines with a detail-oriented, energetic work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, negotiation, and execution of division sourcing agreements.
• Create and maintain material take-offs.
• Support VP of Purchasing by managing the department's timeline and workflow.
• Ensure subcontractors are selected based on quality, cost, service, and delivery.
• Review site development plans and specifications and manage bid packages.
• Monitor trade partner performance for contract compliance and resolve issues.
• Oversee contracts, material take-offs, and purchasing systems like BuildPro and JDE.
• Implement material sourcing strategies to reduce division costs.
• Maintain positive relationships with trade partners and ensure policy adherence.
• Participate in monthly budget meetings and ensure prompt progress payments.
