Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager to develop, negotiate, and execute division sourcing agreements for major construction spend categories. The role focuses on ensuring top subcontractor quality, cost control, and on-time delivery for Lennar communities.

The position requires a strong background in sourcing within the residential homebuilding industry, excellent analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with JDE/AS400 and Excel.

Qualifications

• College degree required.
• Minimum 5 years sourcing and managing Supplier/Trade Partner relationships.
• Superior analytical and communication skills.
• Knowledge/Experience of excel and other Microsoft office applications required.
• Must have significant knowledge of the residential homebuilding industry.
• Must have sound financial management knowledge.
• Must have sound project management capabilities.
• Must be able to build and use should-cost models.
• Must have sound negotiating and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and execute division sourcing agreements for specific spend categories.
• Ensure Lennar uses the best subcontractors to meet manufacturing needs.
• Improve division cost per square foot and optimize material supply chains.
• Benchmark industry sourcing and supply management best practices.
• Facilitate value-engineering sessions with subcontractors and associates.
• Maintain product specifications and available selections.
• Analyze plans and products to ensure internal specifications are met.
• Proactively communicate with division customers and Expeditor to resolve issues.
• Review extra EPOs for compliance with take-offs and scopes of work.
