Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Purchasing Agent in Des Moines to manage division sourcing, negotiate agreements, and handle material take-offs. This role supports the VP of Purchasing and coordinates with trade partners to ensure cost efficiency and timely project execution.

Responsibilities include reviewing site plans, pre-qualifying subcontractors, preparing bid packages, and monitoring performance to meet budgets and schedules. Proficiency in BuildPro and JDE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Read residential blueprints and interpret plans.
• Proficient in Excel and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Ensure subcontractors are selected based on cost, quality, service, and delivery.
• Review site development plans and specifications.
• Pre-qualify and select qualified subcontractors for cost-effective construction.
• Prepare and analyze bid packages including scopes, payment schedules, and documents.
• Monitor trade partner performance and resolve conflicts.
• Oversee contracts, material take-offs, and purchasing systems like BuildPro and JDE.
• Implement sourcing strategies to optimize supply chains and reduce costs.
• Maintain relationships with trade partners and ensure policy adherence.
• Ensure prompt progress payments and participate in budget meetings.
