Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead store construction, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through turnover. The role encompasses bidding, contract management, scheduling, budgeting and cross-functional coordination across Food Lion-contracted work.

The position requires 5–7 years in construction, a Bachelor's degree, strong leadership and communication, and the ability to travel weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to travel weekly.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes with GC/CMs and subcontractors for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Compile bid documents, RFQs, schedules and bring packages to a timely close.
• Manage contracts, purchase orders, processing and payment of requisitions and invoices.
• Oversee Construction Change Authorization/Change Order processes for projects.
• Review redline ARCH/MEP drawings for codes, prototypes, and standards.
• Develop cost-saving ideas including value engineering and construction methods.
• Plan store projects with detailed schedules, milestones and phasing.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Preconstruction/A&E, Operations and other stakeholders.
