Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA, Store Development, seeks a Project Manager I to lead new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through close-out. You will manage bidding, contracts, budgets and schedules to ensure timely openings across Food Lion stores.

The role requires coordinating with Purchasing, Real Estate, Preconstruction/E&A and Operations, and frequent site travel. Residency in NC/SC/VA is preferred with 80% travel to sites and a remote office day on Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Proven ability to lead projects through construction and closeout.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel weekly across project sites and maintain schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding/awarding for GC's/CM's and subs on Food Lion projects.
• Prepare contracts, purchase orders, and process invoices.
• Oversee Change Order process ensuring scope clarity and timely payments.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Preconstruction/E&A and Operations.
• Review ARCH/MEP redlines for code compliance and standards.
• Develop schedules, milestones and monitor progress to ensure store openings.
