Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to oversee pre-construction through close-out for store expansions, remodels and new store construction. The role requires coordinating with multiple departments, managing budgets, bids, and contracts, and ensuring timely openings across Food Lion-contracted projects.

The position involves substantial travel (80% Mon–Thu with a Friday remote office) and requires a Bachelor's degree with 5–7 years in construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
5–7 years of construction industry experience.
Ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability.

Responsibilities

Manage bidding and awarding processes with GC's/CM's and subcontractors.
Oversee contracts, purchase orders and payment processing for Food Lion-contracted work.
Coordinate redline reviews of ARCH/MEP plans for codes and standards.
Provide value engineering feedback and develop cost-saving ideas.
Plan store, expansion, remodel projects with detailed phase plans and milestones.
Coordinate with Purchasing, Refrigeration, Real Estate and Operations on schedules and handoffs.
Oversee construction activities to meet prototype standards, lease requirements and timelines.
Monitor developer/landlord-built projects and communicate issues affecting openings.
