Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA, a division of the global food retailer Ahold Delhaize, is seeking a Project Manager I to lead store development, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through close-out.

You will coordinate with GC's, CM's, developers and vendors, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with prototype standards. The role requires 80% travel (Mon-Thu) with a remote office day on Friday, supporting Food Lion projects across NC, SC and VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers / landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Practical construction technology and methods.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to recognize construction risk, evaluate alternatives and drive issues to resolution.
• Ability to travel weekly

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes with GC's/CM's and subcontractors for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Oversee contracts, purchase orders, processing, and payment of all requisitions and invoices for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Develop and manage construction schedules, phase plans and budgets; monitor progress against milestones.
• Manage the Construction Change Authorization/Change Order process; ensure timely payments and budget impact analysis.
• Lead weekly project construction and operations meetings with stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's Degree; Preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience
