Austin Commercial, part of Austin Industries, Inc., is seeking a Project Manager I for our Houston, TX Division. You will assist the PM II with planning, scheduling and coordinating all project phases on commercial construction projects, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires a BS in construction management/science or engineering, 4+ years in construction, and experience with project management software, cost projection and schedule management.

Qualifications

• BS in construction management/science, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years’ work experience in construction.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (may obtain within first year).
• Experience with project manager software.
• Experience with cost projection, scheduling, financial analysis, budget reviews and labor reports.
• Ability to build and manage direct reports.

Responsabilités

• Assists the project manager II with planning, scheduling and coordinating all phases of the project.
• Assists PM I in plan development during preconstruction, providing technical and cost input.
• Assists in startup activities with the superintendent and coordinates site logistics.
• Reviews subcontractor bids, ensures bonds/insurance, and resolves contract issues.
• Verifies that contract terms are met and that work complies with plans and specs; documents issues.
• Prepares monthly pay requests and ensures timely payments.
• Develops a master construction schedule with Scheduling department and updates it.
• Reviews changes, negotiates scope, and informs owner approvals in writing.
• Ensures compliance with laws, policies, safety practices, and cost controls.
• Handles project closeout documentation and safety requirements.
