Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA, a division of a global food retailer, is seeking a Project Manager I in Store Development to lead new store, expansion, and remodel projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will manage bids, budgets, and schedules, coordinating with GC's, CM's, and internal teams to ensure successful openings.

The role requires 5–7 years in construction, a Bachelor's degree, and the ability to travel weekly across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel weekly.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding with GC's, CM's, and subcontractors for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Prepare and manage contracts, purchase orders, and payment of requisitions and invoices.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to prototype standards.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations, and other stakeholders on schedules and handoffs.
• Develop phased project plans, schedules, and milestones; monitor progress.
• Ensure safety and compliance across projects.
• Lead weekly project meetings and communicate risks and status.
• Manage project closeout including punch lists and certificates of occupancy where applicable.
