Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I in Store Development to lead new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through close-out. You will manage bidding, contracting, schedules and vendor relationships, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.

The role requires 80% travel (Mon–Thu) with a remote office day on Friday across NC/SC/VA regions. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States full-time; experience in construction project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers/landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to travel weekly and manage multiple concurrent projects across a geographic area.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and award processes for GC's, CM's, subcontractors and suppliers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Coordinate bid documents, RFQs, schedules and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
• Oversee contracts, purchase orders, requisitions and invoices for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Manage Change Authorization/Change Order processes and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Lead weekly project meetings and communicate status, risks and actions to stakeholders.
• Monitor safety and ensure compliance with plans, codes, and prototype standards.
• Develop phase plans, schedules and milestones, tracking progress against requirements.
• Ensure store openings are on schedule by coordinating with internal departments and external partners.
