Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through warranty close-out. You will manage schedules, budgets, bidding, contracts, and coordination with internal teams across Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and Engineering.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, reside in NC/SC/VA, and be willing to travel about 80% with a remote office day on Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of architectural/engineering concepts and processes.
• Ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability.
• Strong problem-solving, risk assessment and budget control.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dispersed environment.
• Willingness to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding/awarding with GC's, CM's, subcontractors and suppliers for Food Lion projects.
• Coordinate bid packages, RFQ development and proposals.
• Prepare contracts, POs, processing and payment of requisitions and invoices.
• Oversee Change Authorization/Change Order processes for projects.
• Review ARCH/MEP redlines for accuracy and compliance with codes and standards.
• Provide value engineering feedback and cost-saving ideas.
• Plan store, expansion, remodel projects with detailed phase plans and milestones.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Preconstruction, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Monitor progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to prototypes.
