Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Estimator/Cost Lead to support construction projects across multiple lifecycles. You will perform quantity take-offs, cost research, and prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) using Timberline, while coordinating pricing with subs and vendors.

The role involves developing baseline schedules, preparing bid documents, and contributing to change management. Domestic travel may be required on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Good ability to identify moderately complex problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Excellent computation skills and strong verbal and written communication.
• Proficient with technology typically associated with engineering and construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of contract specifications, quality plans, and design/submittals.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs and researching costs.
• Utilizes Timberline to prepare OPCCs for design-build projects.
• Develops project schedules and financial analyses for routine reporting.
• Prepares required documentation like PXPs, bid documents, and change orders.
• Assists in coordinating subcontractor and vendor pricing and procurement.
