Job summary

American Global seeks a Contractual Risk Manager to join the Infrastructure team. You will analyze major construction contracts for risk allocation and indemnification, collaborating with clients, contractors, legal, and insurance teams to optimize risk transfer and contract terms.

The role offers exposure to design-build and P3 projects, joint ventures, and a range of project agreements. Located at or near our US/Canada offices with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal qualification.
• Experience in construction or engineering law.
• Strong ability to analyze contracts and negotiate terms.
• Ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze major construction and infrastructure contracts focusing on risk allocation and indemnification.
• Support contract negotiations by identifying exposures and advising on insurance terms.
• Evaluate insurance requirements and develop risk management strategies.
• Review insurance coverages and coverage gaps with stakeholders.
• Bridge between contractors, legal, and insurance teams to mitigate exposure.
• Review joint venture, design, and subcontractor agreements for risk allocation.
• Assist with client strategy and business development informed by research.
• Contribute to thought leadership through articles and panels.
