Job summary

American Global seeks a Contractual Risk Manager to join our Infrastructure team. You will analyze major construction and infrastructure contracts, advise on risk allocation, indemnities, and insurance terms, and support negotiations with clients, contractors, and legal teams.

Located near any US or Canadian office, you will contribute to thought leadership, risk reports, and practical strategies for transferring risk across heavy civil, buildings, data centers, and water projects.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal qualification.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, or energy law.
• Ability to translate complex contractual concepts into practical business and risk terms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze major construction and infrastructure agreements with focus on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance requirements.
• Support contract negotiations by identifying exposures and providing guidance on risk allocation and insurance terms.
• Evaluate insurance coverages, exclusions, and limits to inform risk management strategies.
• Review joint venture, design, and subcontractor agreements with emphasis on indemnities and liability allocation.
• Contribute to client strategy, business development, and thought leadership within the construction risk space.
• Develop risk reports combining contract analysis with technical risk assessments.
