Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of healthcare environment preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English; Spanish fluency strongly preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in person or by phone with empathy.
• Collect demographics, third party payer, financial and medical information for registration.
• Obtain authorizations and collect payments when required.
• Comply with HIPAA and EMTALA regulations.
• Document activities in hospital systems and appropriate files.
• Verify payer information and assist with scheduling or pre-registration.
• Schedule hospital services and direct families to correct locations.
• Obtain consents and Living Will documentation when appropriate.
• Maintain data accuracy and confidentiality in all duties.
