Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Prior experience in a business setting providing customer service, while processing and verifying electronic demographic, financial or other data.

• Strong communication and empathy for patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and explains the registration process to patients and answers questions.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles and balances due; safeguards cash and receipts.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent and financial forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs.
• Monitors waiting area for a smooth registration flow and informs patients of delays.
• Completes registrations for inpatients missing information.
• Responds to patient concerns and safeguards confidentiality and safety.
