Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in healthcare, preferably finance.
• 40 wpm typing, adequate keyboard skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Negotiation, assertiveness and proactive attitude.
• Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients with professional, caring demeanor and guide them to the correct area.
• Ensure timely patient registration, aim for ≤15 minutes per visit.
• Collect updated demographics and accurately code information.
• Explain deductibles, co-pays, and insurance processing; discuss financial options.
• Obtain signatures (e-signature) and provide Medicare notices to eligible patients.
• Verify insurance and initiate authorization when needed; use MyChart messaging.
