Responsibilities include verifying demographics and insurance, checking in/out patients, collecting co-pays, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure accurate records and smooth workflow in a busy hospital

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Keyboarding and computer skills required; Microsoft Office preferred.
• Experience scheduling patients is preferred.
• Broad administrative and technical skills in healthcare context.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone with correct salutation and takes messages.
• Documents messages into the EMR.
• Greets patients warmly and verifies information in the EMR.
• Checks in patients in the EMR and updates records.
• Schedules testing and handles precertification as needed.
• Completes referrals, deposits, and end-of-day balancing per protocol.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
