Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare-related field preferred.
• Adequate keyboard skills (40 words per minute typing rate).
• Basic computer skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including ability to discuss medical issues.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally; ascertain reason for visit and direct to correct area.
• Ensure timely registration; aim for no more than 15 minutes to keep patient flow.
• Collect updated demographics and accurately code information (contact numbers, address, insurance, etc.).
• Explain insurance processing, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays; discuss financial assistance where applicable.
• Obtain signatures (e-signatures) and provide Medicare notices; complete MSP for Medicare patients.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits; initiate authorizations when needed.
