FirstService Residential in Los Angeles is seeking a General Manager to lead a community association, reporting to the Board of Directors and coordinating with the management company. The GM will oversee operations, governance, budgeting, staff, and relationships with external entities to ensure exceptional service and compliance.

The role emphasizes strong communication, strategic planning, and on-site leadership to translate Board directives into actionable programs and results for residents

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction in developing short-term and long-range plans to achieve Board objectives.
• Review organizational structure and functions; propose changes to the Board as needed.
• Coordinate with public, private and volunteer organizations to deliver community services.
• Support Board sub-committees and ensure governance alignment with governing documents.
• Develop and monitor annual working budgets and report financial status to the Board monthly.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise community staff; oversee outsourcing when economically feasible.
• Maintain emergency and evacuation plans in coordination with local authorities.
• Attend key community events and ensure homeowners' needs are addressed.
• Ensure compliance with civil codes and governing documents; uphold master and maintenance calendars.
• Provide effective board meeting support, including agendas, reports, and directives tracking.
