Job summary

FirstService Residential seeks a results-driven General Manager to lead a large HOA community in California. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the GM will oversee operations, governance, and staff, ensuring alignment with the association's mission and resident needs.

The role requires strong leadership, financial stewardship, and collaborative relationships with boards and city entities. Responsibilities include developing strategic plans, budget creation, staff supervision, and ensuring

Qualifications

• English proficiency; Spanish a plus.
• Strong written skills and publish appropriate documentation.
• Experience with governance and board interaction.
• Budgeting, finance administration and controls.
• Proven leadership with volunteer boards and staff management.
• Knowledge of California HOA regulations and Davis-Stirling compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to develop short- and long-term plans.
• Review organization structure and functions; propose changes to the Board.
• Coordinate with public, private and volunteer organizations for community services.
• Support Board sub-committees and governance processes.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets and board-approved financial plans.
• Lead staff hiring, training and supervision per staffing plan.
• Ensure compliance with civil codes, governing documents and policies.
• Engage with community events and maintain high on-site visibility.
