Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee is seeking a Community Technician to provide frontline support to individuals experiencing homelessness. This full-time role involves trauma-informed engagement, crisis intervention, and maintaining a safe residential environment during 24/7 operations.

You will respond to conflicts, perform screenings, document incidents, and assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
