Job summary

Banc of California, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist to balance and reconcile General Ledger accounts, support upstream business units, and ensure accurate processing of loan servicing transactions, including SBA loans.

The role emphasizes precision, data integrity, and adherence to banking regulations. The position requires at least three years in commercial loan servicing, familiarity with loan documentation, and strong data management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of related experience or training in commercial loan servicing within the financial services industry.
• Basic work experience, knowledge, and training in loan servicing activities and terminology.
• Basic knowledge of applicable state and federal banking compliance regulations and Bank lending policies, including fair lending, privacy, and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the application of loan payments between the sub-servicer’s loan servicing platform and Banc of California’s loan servicing platform and General Ledger system.
• Interact with customers and business partners and answer technical questions regarding the status and handling of customer accounts while maintaining a high degree of courtesy and professionalism.
• Research and maintain loan account historical and transaction data.
• Research, understand, and explain tax and insurance escrow account histories and documentation and resolve related loan servicing issues.
• Compare loan origination documentation with electronic loan data to confirm loans have been boarded correctly and make corrections as needed with a high degree of precision.
• Read, prepare, and understand commercial documentation.
• Provide and receive cross-training in multiple functional areas within loan servicing to provide support wherever and whenever needed in a dynamic and demanding environment.
• Develop and maintain clear, well‑written work process procedures to support cross‑training and auditing.
• Organize, maintain, and protect physical loan files and electronic data while strictly observing data security protocols.
• Assist with year‑end reporting.
• Follow all established policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
