Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Service Technician – Commercial Generators to perform ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment. The role includes technical support to customers on operational and maintenance aspects.

The position involves daily travel to customer sites, on-call responsibilities, and maintaining documentation and personal tools.

Qualifications

• Requires 3 years field experience servicing generator systems (Level II).
• Level III requires 6 years experience incl. 500KW+ and paralleling switch gear.
• Level IV requires 10 years experience with preventative maintenance and advanced controls.
• Must read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to customer sites for on-site maintenance and repair.
• Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment under contract.
• Interface with customers to communicate status and issues.
• Complete paperwork including service reports and time/expense records.
• Provide technical support to customers when requested.
• Own and maintain personal set of tools; cross-train as needed.
