Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Service Technician for Commercial Generators to support maintenance and repair of generator systems, low/medium voltage switchgear, and battery storage equipment. The role includes daily travel, on‑call support, and collaboration with our Product Support team at client sites.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, on‑site troubleshooting, customer interaction, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Level II Technician requires three years of field experience servicing generator systems with some experience on 500kw+, proficient with preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls, minor ATS repairs and loadbanking equipment.
• All Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel with independent work structure.
• Provide 24x7 on‑call services as required unless on PTO or Off Call.
• Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Battery installations and replacements.
• Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled.
• Customer contact and interface.
• Communicate availability status to corporate office.
• Protect company proprietary information, manuals, and records.
• Use of electronic and electrical test equipment as necessary.
• Coordinate and manage all on‑site subcontractors hired by PSS as necessary.
• Maintain company vehicle in safe and operational condition.
• Ensure that work is performed to PSS standards.
• Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other job required reports timely and accurately.
• Provide technical support to customers upon request.
• Maintain Technical documentation for study and/or review.
• Willing and able to attend training as company deems necessary.
• Own and maintain personal set of mechanical tools.
• Cross train in other areas as needed.
