Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass, part of The Boyd Group, is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare repair estimates accurately and profitably. You will collaborate with the Estimator and production teams to ensure quality documentation and timely updates for customers.

Responsibilities include mapping damage, creating parts lists, and communicating value to customers to achieve a high close rate, while complying with insurer and company guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers at repair drop-off and build rapport.
• Map damage with customer and identify WOW opportunities.
• Prepare and finalize estimates using Repair Planning Template.
• Notify production of vehicle arrival and queue in production.
• Verify and adjust estimate during teardown; ensure windshield notations are correct.
• Communicate with customers regularly about estimates and promise dates.
