Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Michigan is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare estimates for repair in accordance with insurer guidelines and company procedures. You will support the Estimator, communicate value, and help maintain a high close rate.

You’ll map damage, photograph vehicles, update customers, and coordinate with production and insurance adjusters. A HS diploma, customer service experience, and I-CAR coursework are required, with 4–6 years preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Must possess or complete 16 I-CAR units within 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customer at repair drop off and build rapport.
• Map damage with customer and identify WOW opportunities.
• Prepare estimates and verify during teardown.
• Finalize estimates using Repair Planning Template.
• Coordinate with production and repair team for accurate notations and parts list.
• Update customers regularly per management standards.
• Assist insurance adjusters and claim re-inspectors as needed.
